I’m Angela, by the way…
Talking about mother loss out loud. Naming what shaped you. And making room for what still hurts.
Grief, Trauma & Your Mama is a monthly conversation about grief, loss, trauma, and the mama relationship that shaped it all.
I’m a licensed trauma and grief therapist, a certified Mother Hunger® Facilitator, and a woman who has lived the losses I now help others carry.
Each episode gives language to the grief that runs quietly in the background: mother loss, attachment wounds, and the relationships that taught you how to love and how to hurt.
No fixing. No rushing. Just honest conversations that help you understand what you’re carrying, so it gets lighter to hold.
What this show is for
“Grief isn’t a problem to solve. It’s a story that needs a witness. This show is me, sitting with you, while we listen to yours.”

Pain Into Purpose
Hosted by Erika Mahoney
Angela’s father was murdered when she was a teenager. In this episode she sits down with host Erika Mahoney, who first met Angela as one of the therapists at her grief retreat, to trace how she turned that traumatic loss into a life’s work helping others survive the unthinkable and find purpose on the other side of grief.

Angela joins host Lisa Keefauver to unpack how early attachment wounds and childhood trauma get stored in the nervous system, surfacing later as shame, disconnection, and the pull toward familiar but unhealthy relationships. She explains why real healing has to be embodied rather than just understood, and how somatic tools like EMDR and equine therapy, alongside genuine community, help rewire that deep wiring.

A grounded conversation with Sheila Hamilton about surviving trauma: Angela’s own story, and what she has learned as a therapist about how people rebuild safety, trust, and connection after the worst happens. On grief, resilience, and the slow, real work of healing.
When Angela’s twin sons left home, the quiet they left behind hit harder than she expected. In this conversation with host Julianne Rollefson, she opens up about the grief of the empty nest, why this transition can reawaken older losses, and how she moves through it as both a mother and a grief therapist.
