These terms apply when you enroll in the Equine-Assisted Learning Facilitator, Level 1 training at Shakti Ranch through this website. Please read them before you pay, so you know exactly how the training is recorded, what completing it requires, and how payment and refunds work.
About the training
The Equine-Assisted Learning Facilitator, Level 1 course is Rose Mary Riggs’ training, held in person at Shakti Ranch in Malibu, CA. It is offered as training only and does not carry continuing education hours. It is open to everyone; no clinical license, credential, or horse experience is required.
Participants who complete the training receive the Shakti Ranch Level 1 certificate of completion. This is not an equine-assisted learning certification, and completing Level 1 does not make a participant a certified equine-assisted learning facilitator. EAL certification requires completing Rose Mary Riggs’ full Equine-Assisted Learning training program, including all required observations. Level 1 is its prerequisite.
Recording, consent, and your data
The training is video recorded. The recording exists to verify your attendance and to document your completion of the training.
By enrolling, you agree to be recorded, and by joining the training you consent to the recording of that day, including your own participation. A recording notice is stated at the start of the training. Because the day is recorded and every participant's consent matters, please do not join if you do not consent to being recorded. If you are not comfortable being recorded, please do not enroll, and reach out first so we can talk it through.
Recordings and attendance records are kept as part of our training records for up to five years and are used to document attendance and completion. We do not sell recordings, and we do not share them outside of what is needed to administer the training. How we handle your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
We administer these trainings from California, in the United States. If you enroll from outside the United States, you understand that your information and your session recording will be processed in the United States, as described in our Privacy Policy.
What completing the training requires
The certificate of completion is earned, not automatic. To receive the Shakti Ranch Level 1 certificate of completion, you need:
- Full attendance for the live training day.
- Active participation in the experiential work.
- Completion of the short post-course assessment.
There are no make-up sessions. If you miss part of the course, you can re-enroll in a future cohort to complete it.
Format and access
The training is held in person at Shakti Ranch, live and hands-on, working directly with the horses, and filmed for your attendance record. It is accompanied by self-paced lessons hosted on the Angela Schellenberg Members platform, with lifetime access through your member login.
You do not need to own a horse or have any riding experience. The work is relational and done on the ground.
Payment, refunds, and cancellation
Tuition is paid in advance at the price shown at enrollment and is processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Because your place in the cohort is reserved for you, refunds follow this schedule:
- Cancel 14 or more days before the start date for a full refund.
- Cancel within 14 days of the start date for a 50% refund.
- Once the training has begun, tuition is non-refundable.
Refunds are issued except where law requires otherwise.
Accommodations
If you need an accommodation to participate fully, please let us know at least 14 days before the training begins so we have time to arrange it.
This is education, not clinical care
This training is educational. It is not therapy, supervision, or clinical treatment, and enrolling does not create a therapist and client relationship. What you do with the training in your own practice or life is your responsibility.
